Turning point.....maybe

Turning point.....maybe.... but if it is, it'll be a 360.....3Sixty.

In fact that's what I'm calling my latest wax in test. 3Sixty. The name is a radical departure from the naming scheme which has been used for the last 12 months and first 12 products. But this wax compound is so radically different from those first 12 that I wanted to make it very clear to all the artists using our products.

The desire was to create a wax that could do it all:
Cast in to molds
Carve cleanly
Polish to a nice sheen
Be Modeled
Be detailed worked with hot pen
Be tough enough to be handled without fear of breakage

If a wax could come full circle.... cast.... model.... carve..... pen..... polish..... sustain molding wouldn't a name like 3Sixty be fitting?

Tests this weekend will reveal more, but 3Sixty seems to do it all pretty well. Modeling is the least proficient of the above traits, since it has a very slick feel, and the modeling is best thought of in roughing terms. But it's the first real tooling wax I've experienced that could be modeled while warm, and then achieve true tooling wax-like traits when cool.

More to come in way of photo's and videos as the testing goes on.
